FIEC's Women's Ministry team has two main aims:
to encourage appropriate Biblical women's ministries
to encourage pastor's wives.
Women's Ministries We uphold the Biblical perspective that God calls men to the primary leadership role in family and church. Within that framework, we believe that women have been gifted with all sorts of complementary gifts, and that our churches are poorer if these gifts are not developed and used. We wish to encourage women in the very many ministries to which they are called, and share examples of how these ministries are working out in practice. We are planning a Women's Day Conference that can be offered to different churches: do contact Elisabeth Smyth at the FIEC office if you would be interested in hosting such a conference. Encouragement of Pastors' Wives We are very aware that many pastors' wives can feel quite isolated, especially those in smaller churches. We want to encourage networking between such people, for the purpose of mutual support. We are producing "News & Views" a bi-annual newsletter, primarily for pastors' wives, although we hope it will include material that will be of help to others involved in women's ministries. If you would like to sign up for that, or if you have any suggestions or enquiries, do contact Elisabeth Smyth at the FIEC office.
