We're pleased to announce that Andy Paterson will be joining the team of FIEC Directors as Director of Mission.
The vital role of Director of Mission is a strategic appointment that will support the Fellowship in its desire to equip and encourage church leaders and congregations for mission in their own communities. Andy’s main work will be inspiring and envisioning churches for mission, helping them develop strategies that will enable them to engage with their communities, shaping an FIEC strategy for evangelism and church planting, and building partnerships with other like minded groups who are seeking to reach the nation for Christ.
This appointment completes the central team envisaged by the recent FIEC restructuring, and will enable the Fellowship to serve and support its churches in every area of ministry.
John Stevens, Director of the FIEC, said “I am delighted that after a long and prayerful search Andy has been appointed to take on this role. I am convinced that his local church experience, passion for mission and faithful service of the FIEC over many years will be a great blessing to the Fellowship and to the cause of Christ.”
Commenting on his appointment, Andy Paterson said, “I’m delighted to be joining FIEC’s team of Directors at this strategic time. Although it’s a massive wrench to be leaving the church I’ve pastored for over 23 years, I do so excited by the opportunities we have within the FIEC to put mission at the heart of all we do. We need to be rigorously biblical, creatively imaginative and wisely discerning as we encourage one another to share the gospel, engage with our communities and plant new churches. These are significant days and we must be faithful to our responsibilities.”
